Inside Maison & Objet Paris

I have returned to Paris not just for the beauty, but for the creative energy—and few places capture that quite like Maison & Objet. This year’s edition () was especially inspiring. As a designer working at the intersection of luxury interiors, fashion, and artisan craftsmanship, I go to reconnect with makers, discover rare materials, and gather ideas for my clients’ next project.
A Show That’s So Much More Than Trends
This season’s overarching theme, “Welcome Home,” curated by Amélie Pichard, was a poetic reminder that home is not just a place…it’s a feeling. I walked through conceptual rooms filled with playful design and unexpected details that challenged the idea of what interiors can be.
Rather than chasing trends, I look for deeper cues: what materials are speaking to people right now? What craftsmanship is returning? What technology is being integrated into classic works.
What Caught My Eye
Texture and tactility were everywhere—bouclé, brushed linens, soft velvets. I immediately thought of how these could layer into wellness-led spaces I design for clients who want their homes to feel like retreats.
Artisan lighting continues to evolve, with hand-blown glass and sculptural forms that feel more like wearable art than mere fixtures.
I found several independent ateliers whose work I’ll be sourcing for upcoming projects—pieces with soul, not just surface beauty.
I also spent time in the Craft / Métiers d’Art section, which always draws me in. It’s where I find furniture and objects that can’t be replicated—true one-of-a-kind pieces made with old-world skill and contemporary imagination.
Beyond the Halls: Paris Design Week
What makes this time in Paris so enriching is that the fair spills into the city. During Paris Design Week, I walked through Marais galleries, stopped by showroom launches, and visited local workshops. It’s here, in the side streets and salons, where it often begins..
WHISPers OF ELEGANCE
If you’re seeking to create a space that feels effortlessly curated, deeply personal, and enduring in its elegance, I would be delighted to share the inspiration I gathered at Maison & Object. Together, we can translate these discoveries—artisanal craftsmanship, sculptural forms, nuanced palettes—into a home that reflects your individuality with quiet sophistication.
